I am new to this ! So what is a blog really ?

So who am I and where am I from !
I am Khan Md Ashraf, pushing 50, well on the way to passing middle age. I live in the south of India on the east coast. I am married with two children, a girl and a boy and of course my wife.
What do I do !
I do computers. I started out putting them together not so very long ago, 1999. Also got into GNU/Linux. The Brave GNU World see !
I mainly provide GNU/Linux services to small enterprises in my city. I assemble PC's and provide hardware support to individuals and small enterprises. I also support MS Windows whenever a client wants it.
I am not a certified type. About computers and computing. I learnt everything I know today by myself, the help of friends and without a doubt the internet.
In fact I would credit this self learning to the Internet and GNU/Linux entirely. And my consuming interest in science and technology early in my life. It actually saved my life !
The first time I came across it, RedHat 5.0 was distributed along with one of the computer magazines that I buy, I was amazed that people were actually giving away an Operating System software (OS) free of cost. That too with comprehensive documentation to assist you with this OS. So I jumped right in. And not looked back since. I stuck with it inspite of the many who derided my passion for it. For the life of me I could not and yet do not understand why people do not want to change even if by doing so they benefit immensely. And now I actually get paid to provide GNU/Linux services.
